This is a question we get asked a lot.
It goes along the lines of:

  • “I have found this track in the attic … ”,
  • “there is this model railway in the basement that belonged to my (fill in relationship), and we have to get it out of there … ”
  • “I have come across these pieces of … “

Hi all,

Just an FYI that we will be putting the club layout together this Thursday evening and that should include the two new modules. The goal is to get it back running again tomorrow night so all hands on deck would be appreciated. That being said watch the weather as they are calling for freezing drizzle in this area starting Thursday afternoon.

Be safe as the layout can always wait!

Thanks to all the members who attended the club Christmas dinner last Thursday at the club room and contributed such great pot luck style food. It was excellent and there was lots for everyone. Kudos to all who contributed their time to make this banquet as it was much appreciated.

John Vincent came up last night to lay the track on the new bridge module. With Doug Smith’s help he did a great job and even the guard rails are installed. We will have to be very careful cleaning the rails on this module as not to dislodge them and put them out of gauge. Wayne kit-bashed a pump house for this module which looks really good in place. The oil depot is done except for some figures and Wayne has wired both for operation.

See you tomorrow.

On Thursday evening, Eric, Doug, Dan, Harold, Steve and Don M. all braved the snow storm to disassemble and pack up the layout for transport to the Whitby Train Show.

Great work guys!

The two new 3 foot modules are well underway. The first module is an oil depot while the second is a scale model of the old bridge over the Scugog River in Lindsay.
Many thanks to John Vincent for his creative and artistic contribution to the second module.
