All About The Lindsay & District Model Railroaders
Our model railway club was formed in 1965 with the members meeting at each others homes until size demanded a more permanent location. Since then the club has maintained our own club rooms hosting a detailed HO scale layout. The club has become well known in our community and regularly attends model railway shows with our travelling layouts as hosted by other clubs in a number of southern Ontario communities.
Over the years, the Club has maintained a minimum base of 20 active members, fluctuating at times to more than 30. Some areas of member interest include model railway operations, layout and scenery construction, model making of various kinds, railway history, applied electronics, virtual railroading and other assorted related interests.
Mission
To promote the appreciation of our local industrial and transportation heritage through the quality modelling of, and the public presentation of, realistic reproductions, coupled with the provision of accurate historical information.
Objectives
The objectives of the Club are:
- To promote modelling of our industrial and transportation heritage and the mutual interests of the members;
- To encourage the enjoyment and growth of modelling our industrial and transportation heritage;
- To promote the restoration and/or enhancement of our local industrial and transportation heritage;
- To foster goodwill and co-operation among and between the Club members and the community.
